What Prevents Alzheimer's?
The answer is still 'we don't know,' but we're getting closer.
Alzheimer's is not normal in the course of aging, and it's more
than 'a decline in memory.' People suffering from Alzheimer's,
through progressive destruction of brain cells, lose the ability
to think, reason, learn and communicate, and also undergo
personality changes. For the ten warning signs of Alzheimer's go
here: http://www.alz.org/AboutAD/10Signs.htm . Alzheimer's is
eventually fatal because the person cannot move or swallow. ...

Yes, You Can Have Your Cheeseburger And Keep Your Health Too!
I still get a kick out of the looks of disbelief I get when I
tell people that as part of my healthy, meatless diet, I eat
cheeseburgers every chance I get. They tell me, "that's
ridiculous--if you eat cheeseburgers, of course you're eating
meat". Wrong!
I had been a healthy eater for years, but when I took the next
step and decided to go what I call "NMP" (no meat or poultry), I
knew that if making that transition was going to work, I had to
find a way to eat food I'd actually heard of and ...

Prevent or Delay Alzheimer's Disease
Argh! Where are my glasses? I put them down . . . to do what?
And when?
As the daughter of an Alzheimer's patient, this inability to
keep up with everyday items, like my glasses and car keys,
drives me absolutely nuts! Absent-mindedness has always plagued
me. Now, it keeps me anxious and guessing. Is this an early sign
of Alzheimer's disease? Could I end up like my father, crippled
with this disease? I decided to stop worrying about it and act!
I searched the latest literature to see what ...

Are All Dementias Alzheimer's?
I'm surprised when some patients and caregivers confuse
dementia and Alzheimer's as one and the same. Each time a family
member is suffering from memory loss, the conclusion is always
Alzheimer's. Is it reasonable to label all dementias as
Alzheimer's?
As a clinician, my answer to queries is that Alzheimer's
dementia is only one type of dementia and that not all dementias
are Alzheimer's. Aside from Alzheimer's disease, other dementias
exist such as Dementia with lewy body, Vascular ...

Ways to Prevent Heart Disease
Low density lipoproteins, commonly know as "bad" LDL, can penetrate and gather against the inner walls of our arteries, under certain conditions, forming fatty streaks and plaque. Due to the busy lifestyles of two income households, the demand for quick and easy microwaveable food, fast food and snack foods have increased drastically. Also, many children are substituting soda and vending machine snacks for school lunches.
Taken alone, LDL particles aren't so dangerous it seems, however, when ...

Top 7 Tips to Prevent Alzheimer's Disease

Exercise keeps the brain healthy. Either use it or lose it. Regular physical activity increases the blood flow to the brain and provides the nutrients necessary to render its tissues resistant to Alzheimer's.
